Default $1 off meal Pork Producers tents at State fair

Just want to make sure you all know that there was a special advertisement section for the Indiana Pork Producers in w/ the Sunday ads in the Indianapolis Star today. On the back page is a coupon for "$1.00 off a meal at the Indiana Pork Tents" at the State Fair Aug 8t-19th. IMO, the various Indiana meat producer groups' tents have some of the best deals at the state fair. I have been getting the 1/2 bbq chicken meal the last few years at the Ind poultry producers tent. They tend to have a good deal (for the state fair) on their kids meals at the poultry tent, if your kid can eat turkey hot dog.

But maybe I'll check out the pork tent. I haven't had a pork burger or chop for years at the fair... Now we just have to wait for week two of the fair when the Star puts in free tickets for during the week.

Default In Thurs paper too

The pork producer's insert was in the Thursday Indy Star again. The $1 off meal at the fair coupon is on the back again. It might be a smart move on their behalf. People might be staying as long at the fair in the heat. If some are only eating one meal at the fair, maybe the coupon will help bring them into the pork tents.

Anyone else second thinking going to the fair this year due to the heat? At 90degrees before the heat index predicted for nearly all of the second week, I don't really see a good day to go even IF the Star puts in free fair tickets for the second mid week. I really wanted to see the cachunga (sp?) alligator show. We saw a few years ago at the fair and it was really cute!!

Nothing at all against your good state...I spend ALOT of money there....but if you are looking for a really nice State Fair come on down to Louisville starting Thursday the 16th.
A big portion of our Kentucky State Fair is in air conditioned comfort. Dont forget to get your discount tickets at Kroger before the start of the fair , that saves a bundle.

Default No wonder they put in $1 coupons

Wholly moley! I know why they put in the $1 off meal cpn for the pork tent. The pork tent prices are through the roof--IMO. They are more expensive than the beef producers ribeye sandwich. Six dollars for a pork chop or pork burger? Then $3 more for the meal. A delicious jumbo bbq sandwich w/ chips and a side is only 5.50 at GT South's restaurant.

Poultry producers tent is definitely the best deal at the fair. Dinners are just 6.75. That includes any entree, chips, drink, applesauce, and bread. THe 1/2 bbq chicken is delicious. 32oz frozen pepsis are $3.

Best corn dog deal is still the Mullen family corndog and lemon shake up stand close to where the pigs are. 2.50 for reg or $4 for footlong corndog.

We will be using the free tickets from the paper tomorrow night. At .50 for each paper bought for each ticket, that was a great deal instead of $7/8 admission. What a great surprise to find that the Star put in a coupon insert in Tues. paper!! I definitely got my money's worth
