Default 12 YO Boy & Christmas?

I'm stumped as to what to get for my 12 (almost 13) YO son for Christmas.

He loves video games but 1) he has a bunch of them already 2) I want to get him soemthing other than that and 3) I'm not a big fan of video games these days

Any suggestions? I gave him the Sears wishbook hoping to get some ideas and all he looked at was the video games

HHHHEEEELLLLLPPPPP please!

What about tickets to a movie theater or a play?
I was stumped on what to get my 11 year old neice....lucky me....High School Musical the concert is coming to our Performing Arts Center the weekend of her birthday! It is such a perfect gift! Plus I got her a few little things from HSM......hat and glove set and a t-shirt.

Good Luck!

Tickets are good.

Does he enjoy any sports, such as basketball, tennis, etc? If so, equipment is good. If not, then something that would interest him, like a ticket to a show, movie pass, gift certificate, etc.

He might spend the gift certificate on a video game, but he has to make the decision, get on his feet and actually go buy it - and maybe you have a nice dinner or time with him.

I know what you're saying. I have 10 year old and 15 year old boys and all they want is video games too. I tried to get them other things last year and they ended up not even playing with them. All they want is the video games. I think I am also going to get them mp3 players this year too.

Like the gift card ideas too.

Any music you purchase - won't be right.
Any sweaters you purchase - won't be right.
Any PJs you purchase - won't be right.
Any jewelry you purchase - won't be right.
Any athletic atire you purchase - won't be right.
Any particular video game you purchase - won't be right.
Any perfume/cologne/aftershave you purchase - won't be right.
Any electronics (outside of a Wii or a new puter) you purchase - won't be right.

We buy a token gift to open and give gift cards.

You can tell that I have almost survived the teenaged years
for my own sons and have 27 nieces & nephews.

The only sport he does is Karate. All he needs for that is his uniform and sparring gear. Both of which are already paid for.

We managed to get him to write down a few things....they were all games :0( He still enjoys building with legos and being creative. So we got him some of them and a few model kits as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
