Default 3rd ultrasound, 2nd OB visit, and 2nd Trimester Dance!

Sorry in advance, this may be a long one, there is much to update!

Yesterday afternoon I had my second OB visit and 3rd ultrasound, and it went pretty well. The babies looked GREAT! They were so cute flipping all over the place. They move so much, I am amazed that I cant feel them. Baby B did two complete turn overs while we were watching. Baby A is measuring 12w6d and baby B is measuring 13w, so they are right on target with my dates. Their heart rates were 151 and 154. The ultrasound was an abdominal ultrasound, but before we got started the tech said that we may have to do a vaginal to check cervical length, but she would try to get a measurement through the abdomen. When it came time to measure my cervix, the first question out of her mouth was "have you had any cramping?" I said "no", and she said "really?"

She said that my cervix was measuring 3cm and there was a dark spot that could have been mucous but she wasnt sure what it was. She said 3cm was the lowest acceptable measurement. She did a vaginal ultrasound to get a better look, and that way my cervix measured 3.4cm, which she said was fine and she could go home and sleep well with that measurement.

My doctor was out delivering 3 babies, so I saw one of the other doctors who was really nice and very reassuring. He said that everything looked great. He was happy with the cervical measurement. He said to come back in 3.5 weeks for another check to make sure it wasnt going anywhere and to call if I have any cramping at all. Cervical incompetence is so so so so scary.

On a side note: SECOND TRIMESTER DANCE!!!

here are some pictures:

As I understand it (and I might be wrong--I apparently have the cervix of steel) 3cm is the lowest acceptable measurement with a singleton. I'm pretty sure you're okay at this point with twins. But in any case congratulations--start slowing down now.

Congrats!!! I am glad everything is going good and I'm glad they're going to check your cervix again to make sure! I hope everything keeps going good for you.

Congrats! I know when I was pg with my twins they almost always check my cervical length. At one point (about 1 month before they were born) they told me that they noticed that my cervix was funneling when abdominal pressure was applied. I was having severe cramps, that's why I went in to the doctor and they just dismissed me and sent me home. Looking back I wish they would've recommended bed rest or follow up because when the twins were born 11 weeks early no one could pin point why. I don't want to scare you but make sure you are telling your doctors about every ache and pain and weird thing going on even if you think you might be telling them things that are normal so that they can make sure you all are okay. I don't want your little ones to be preemies!
