Default 4th of July, 2008 Plans?

4th of July, 2008 will quickly be upon us.

What are your plans?

Going to see the fireworks?

Are you working at your job?

Having a picnic?

Having a BBQ, cookout?

Going camping?

Going to the beach?

Going to your family's for the day?

Going to the lake?

Staying home and having a low key celebration?

Well, the UK doesn't celebrate the 4th July, but I have a lot of American friends, and they're getting together online in a computer game to celebrate - virtual cake, fireworks, music, and dancing They use a voice communication program called Ventrillo, and to back up the in game music a guy will be broadcasting some music over that. They're even planning a quiz and a drinking game or two.

It sounds sad typing it out, but they did this last year too, and it was actually pretty fun. A great way to join in the celebrations when you're on the other side of the world.

Go to the parade in a neighboring small town, have some burgers and beer at the picnic, watch the fireworks and say thank you to all veterans who have fought for our independence!

We are taking little T to the parade downtown! It will be her first time, since I forgot last year! (not like she'll remember)
After that we are having a small cookout at the house, out by the pool. We'll probably take Tiffany swimming. Then, tonight we may go down to the beach again to see the fireworks, or we may stay home and put Tiffers to bed at her normal time and watch the neighbors fireworks. A lot of my neighbors get the big ones like you would see at a show, so we could sit out be the pool in the screened in area, not get chewed up by mosquitos and just watch the show the neighbors do. ( I like the thought of no bug bites!!)
I hope all of you have a Happy 4th!!!!!!!!

We are heading out to Knotts Berry Farm-- amusement park, for a few hours today, then tonight we are heading over to our friends house for a cook-out & fireworks. We are looking forward to the cook-out, since that is our old neighborhood. It will be nice for my daughters to see some of their old neighborhood friends.

We are probably going to treat it like any other day. We will probably grill something on the BBQ for dinner. My husband will drink lots of beer while I don't ('cause I'm pregnant and all). Then around 9:00, we'll watch the Legoland fireworks off of our back balcony and then at 9:30 we'll go to the front balcony and watch the Oceanside fireworks, just like we did last year. We're a bucket of fun, aren't we?

I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July!
