Default 76 year old woman banned from bus station for giving bc advice

http://news.aol.com/story/_a/rider-b...28211909990001

I don't know if I'd feel offended, or if I'd feel sorry for the old lady. I've always been taught to respect my elders. But on the other hand, I think she needs some sort of a lesson to firgure out why she shouldn't say those things.

Do you think she was really saying to be mean, or if she just sort of "put her foot in her mouth" and might not have realized it actually was offending some people?

That's not bc advice. That is just bigotry.

It's an extension of the thing that Catholics used to hear - you people don't practice birth control, you are taking over.

No really. I used to hear this growing up in the sixties.

Same mentality. Good for the bus company to kick her out. Harrassment is not free speech.

I agree. Although I've gotten quite a few comments like that. I generally respond with a witty comeback. Like if someone says, "Haven't you heard of birth control?" I answer--"Oh yeah--are you looking for a recommendation? With your demeanor I would NOT suggest having children." Accompanied by a deer in the head lights look with a sweet smile leaving them to wonder if I really had just said that! If I'm in a good mood and depending on which children I have with me. . . my older ones do NOT need to know all about various forms of bc at this point I might say something like. "Why yes and you should definitely not use what we used. It toally didn't work."

Or "Yes, but my dh just can't keep his hands off me. Don't you wish yours was the same way?" Or I could go on. I just don't tolerate that kind of comment from people.

If she hadnt mentioned "they" are taking over our society, she probably would've been ok, but once she said that, it's no longer "helpful".

Twinz....I can't believe that right in front of your children folks ask you about your bc choices. That is just beyond rude. I don't know if I'd be able to smile like you do. I just can't believe people are so rude.
