Wink A very positive potty moment!

After struggles galore, my DH shared a wonderful moment with me today. While they were at the mall this morning, Heike told him that she wanted to go pee on the potty at the mall. I guess she likes going to the family washroom, so off they went. She took off her own pants, DH helped with the diaper, helped her up on the "little" toilet for kids, and sure enough, she peed in the potty!

I cried when he told me. It has been such a struggle to get her to take interest in it. Tonight, she tried again, but nothing happened, so we'll just keep asking and see if she asks to go herself.

Perhaps the advice of "when they are ready, they'll do it" is going to happen for us. I have been so embarrassed because she's over three, and there are much younger kids who are potty trained. I feel sometimes like I haven't done my job as a mother. This is such a break through!

Thanks for letting me share!

your right...i mean think about it...how many teenagers do you see wearing diapers? They all learn, in their own time
