Default Abdominal Pain

I had 2 previous c-sections, one in June of 06, another in June of 07. I am 33 wks pg and this will be another c-section. About 4-5 times a day, I have pain along my scar (one side at a time). It feels like a burning almost tearing sensation. When it happens I can't move, stand, talk. Im thinking its because I haven't had enough time to heal between surgery and pregnancy. Has anyone had this pain before?

I'm having it now. I had two other C-sections one in '03 and one in '04. My Dr said to try a belly band, one of those velcro things..???... I hated it! Try resting and not lifting. Walking and carrying laundry or the boys set it off for me... oh and moving in my sleep b/c I'm not careful. GL I hope it ends soon. If I hear anything else I'll let you know.

I have never had a c-section before, but a woman I work with had the same problem. She had her first c-section four years ago. Her scar kind of split open in a way (not to the point of bleeding though.) Instead of a straight line, it looked more like a football-shaped scar. It was weird to see! She, too, said it was painful and felt like a burning sensation. She didn't do much lifting, though, she said... it just happened when her belly got bigger! Yikes!

Have you tried putting something the Neosporin Cooling Gel on it? That might help! Or something that helps with itching might help with the burning, too! Good luck to you!

The pain is more internal. I dont have pain when I touch my scar. Do you think a heating pad may work? I haven't had any pain at night when I turn or try to get up in a few days....hopefully it stays away.

OMG that sounds painful!!! Ouch.

Maybe slathering on the cocoa butter as thick as you can manage covered with plastic wrap for, I don't know, and hour in the morning, then at night too? I have no other ideas. I hope it doesn't get too bad for you, poor thing!

I asked dr about the pain today. He said its more than likely because I was cut open and now its stretching. Im not going to lie...it hurts, but on the plus side it only lasts a few minutes. I hope you dont have to go through this. How long ago was your last c-section?

Ihave had 2 previous c-sections, with 3 seperate scars, and get that pain now too. (I am 31 weeks). My surgeries were quite far apart - 13 years ago and 6 years ago. My DR said it is normal.
Try a heating pad... also, if you have a shower head that detaches and is hand-held, try using that when you take a hot shot with some direct pressure on it. Massaging the area will help a little too.
