I lost lots of blood when I gave birth and wonder if it could have anything to do with my problem...My iron is still a bit low, doc said it's 9.4 but it's higher than it was. When I bf Kianna my hands and feet go numb and sometimes it goes numb all the way up to my elbows. I have tried many positions thinking it was positioning but it still happens every single time almost as soon as I start bf-ing. I have not noticed it happening at any other time during the day......although I'm not really doing much else right now cause Kianna is still wanting to eat every 2 hours.

BUT on the plus side I've lost 28 pounds I'm still way over weight but that is amazing progress imo

i know that sometimes my arm goes numb up to where Gabby has her head (been like that since she was born), i'm guessing it's from the pressure of the head, however it usually takes some time before it starts... i doubt low iron would cause it... i would talk to a dr just incase

I lost a lot of blood during childbirth too, and also had the numbness. But I really don't think it's from blood loss. Loss of blood wouldn't really cause numbness, especially so long after. 9.4 isn't too shabby either. I know it's a bit lower than what it's supposed to be but I assume it was a lot lower when she was born, right? I agree with Kylie, that it could be baby's position. I noticed that for myself, my legs went numb when I put them up when I was bf. One time I didn't realize that my foot went numb and when I stood up, I fell right over with Devon in my arms! LoL! Anyway, just remember that it doesn't last forever!
