Default Abusing the System

Just wanted to say that I was outright told today to my face by a CVS employee who I've had some chilly dealings with that I was abusing the system and CVS didn't intend for people "like me" to be getting things for free with the program. Really? Well, then why in the weekly circular does it say FREE after ECB? When I explained that I called corporate for the coupon/ECB policy she told me that they were told different by their trainers (so I'm lying??). I asked her why didn't she call corporate and get the policy herself in writing if she thought I had been doing something wrong. She had no good answer. She said that some CVS coupons can't be used with other ones and I told her that none of mine did but she still refused to be courteous. Sorry for venting but I'm wondering if enough toothpaste and tampons to last me a lifetime is worth this aggravation. I'm used to snarky looks but I really felt personally affronted today. It was made worse by the fact as I walked out she yelled to the other cashiers "I can't stand her!" I know there are other CVSers in my area so I don't understand her attitude. I so wanted to call corporate right then and there but its Saturday. I plan on calling corporate on Monday and trying to get some justice. Oh well, just needed to vent because I was on the verge of tears. Btw I know for a fact a lot of CVS stores (at least those in my area) sell expired products ie Viactiv chews, Robitussin cough drops, vitamins. This can really get them in trouble with the health department so if anyone ever gets accused of doing something wrong or a rude attitude maybe bring up this fact also with coporate or manager on duty and see what happens. Employees shouldn't be allowed to treat honest moms, dads, students, and others who are trying save money of dishonest behavior and not be called out on their infractions (failing to remove potentially harmful product). I have stayed under the radar and not brought attention to myself when I was overcharged a few times because I thought I was getting some good deals. But sometimes you have to take a stand. Ok enough of me for now. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I think amid all the deals we get we have to pay this price occasionally.

I saw some employees whispering about me earlier.. I let things get too personal for me sometimes but let them talk I'm the one who is getting the free stuff. They are just jealous

OMG Id call and ask for a meeting with the district manager IN store. they cant dicuss discplinary action taken with you BUT if you can get that DM in the store to tell him your prolem he will have to deal with her and not just blow it off or hand it over to store manager.

must be evil cashier day. i had the following order and ended up leaving it laying their and going to another cvs to get my items

huggies 7.99
alavert 6.99
life fitness gum 2.49
hall cough drops clearance .49
subtotal: 17.96
Had a $5 off $15 CRT (which did not scan, barcode was smudged too much), $1.50 huggies, $6 alavert, and $3 life fitness from heart book (which beeped but she did it anyway). The $5 off $15 didn't scan so she put it aside and did the others first then refused to enter it because i had less than $15 subtotal. i asked her to re-ring the order with the $5 off first she said no, you have too many coupons. i said ok, just void the order then. she went to get a manager to void it and then refused to give back my coupons. the manager just opened the drawer and handed them to me. didn't even ask why i was voiding the order. if ds had not been crying his lungs out (teething we think) i would have told her and gotten my order fixed. I did email coporate because the cashier was also rude to my mother when her ecbs printed out (wow, you must be doing something illegal to get this many) and tried to make me use my mother's card for my purchases (meaning no ecbs for my last alavert since my mom was already maxed on hers). So i went to another store where they are nicer and got the same thing (plus an extra gum, it went bogo right before we checked out and the coupon did not beep that time).
anyway, i just emailed coporate and asked for the coupon policy. i told them what items and coupons i had and that the cashier refused to let me use four coupons on four items. from now on, i'll just use our other two cvs's or the one near target in the next town over (since we make weekly target treks after discovering targt web coupns). lol!

Don't ever let classless cashiers like the one you experienced ever get you down. From now on, every time you get less than a perfect feeling from that cashier, make a report to corporate. The cashier will hear about it every time and eventually they will get the point if they want to keep their little job. I had to do this once, and every time I received less than absolutely perfect service from her (I set the bar low too), I would call corporate. She didn't change though, unfortunately... She quit... which suits me just as well.

the cvs near my house has cashiers just like the ones you are explaining, but i havent got the illegal reply.. man that was harsh. i dont understand why the cashiers cant do their job. if they are supposed to take coupons they should take them. not act like we're doing something wrong. if it says FREE they should understand people are going to get things for free. thats what the ECB is all about. FREE CVS money it says it on their receipt and when u sign up for a card. i've been having a LOT of problems as well, but i try to go to the cashiers that are guys, because they dont have an attitude and WILL DO THEIR JOB! (needed to vent also! thanks for starting the thread!!)

You know, as a matter of fact she was probably right. They don't intend for "SMART SHOPPERS LIKE US" to make a purchase using coupons to earn a ecb, and then take more coupons and that ecb and make a purchase on another item and then take coupons, that ecb and make another purchase for another free item and ecb......all the while splitting, rolling and stretching our ecb's. They expect the average shopper to say, oh.......thats on sale for $9.99, but the add says free......so they go spend the $9.99 and then either lose the ecb or not know what to do with it.........or even if they do use their $9.99 ecb, they use it to purchase an item for $24.99..........not like us, who would take that $9.99 ecb and buy 3 items that each qualified for a $5.99 ecb!
However, thats not abusing the system. Thats being a smart shopper, and you should be proud of yourself that you have the ability to do that!!!! Do you have a different cvs that you could shop at untill that rude cashier is no longer there?

I think a call to corporate is definitely the first thing you need to do. Everytime I have called, corporate has always been very helpful.

She needs to be fired on the spot. That is completely out of line.
