Default Acupuncture

Hello,

I was wondering is anyone has ever tried Acupuncture? If so, have you tried a few different Acupunturist before staying with one?

There are also many different ways the needles can be used and was wondering which you found most useful. I have tried the needles heated and cold.

Thanks!
Lisa

I've tried only one acupuncturist. The needles were room-temperature, as far as I could tell. I've also had laser acupuncture and frequency/light therapy with this same practitioner.

You can do acupuncture without needles? Or is the frequency/light therapy a different form?

Frequency therapy is different. He just offers both. But, laser acupuncture is done without needles.

For your sake I hope the surgery *remains* successful. I've met many who've had the surgery, yet had the condition eventually return.

It was at the advice of my friend, whose mother in law had the surgery twice and was still affected by Carpal Tunnel, that I tried a chiropractor. It took a few adjustments, but the results were phenomenal. I didn't have trouble with it again for probably four years.

Then it returned about five years ago. I changed my diet (which I need to do again). I also started taking supplements, etc. I decided to spend my money in that direction, in an attempt to alleviate IBS symptoms. Oddly enough, this diet change got rid of the CT problems.

Normally the chiro can resolve this issue with me (when it returns), but I've been battling a huge back problem. So, for over a year I've had recurrences of CT. Unfortunately, this go round has not been improved by chiropractic adjustments, but by massage therapy, instead.

When I got weekly massages, the CT went away. But now that I dropped down to once every other week, it has returned. I am getting osteopath manipulations on the weeks in between the massages, so that's why I cut down on getting them weekly.

I've had acupuncture, but it never did anything for CT. I do know of others who have had success with it.

I said all that to say this: there is no one reason why everyone gets CT, so there isn't going to be one cure/remedy for getting rid of it. If something doesn't work, move on and try a different avenue. I, however, would like to think that I'd never have surgery for this. But, I've learned to never say never.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that you have had so many problems with your carpal tunnel. I had my surgery about 5+ yrs ago.and so far so good. It all started with my first pregnancy then shortly after I had her I had the surgery. With my second pregancy it came back a little, but went away after having my son. I still have numbness at the top of my thumbs. I dont think I will ever get that feeling back.
