And tell dad you're less likely to have your period if you BF. Plus they won't have to get up in the middle of the night to feed. That'll change some minds!!! Plus it'll save you lots of $$$ not to mention time!
And it's not really they're choice...we gave birth!

Their belief that breastmilk is bad for the baby is totally unfounded - and false! Your breastmilk is designed for your individual baby! Too many women cut breastfeeding short because of other people's opinions. This is a great bonding opportunity and definitely the best for your child's health. Here's a link to an article about the benefits of breastfeeding and the problems women face from the public: Link removed due to advertising a competing forum which is a breech of our terms of use.
I hope you find the support you need at this forum!

I really think that every mother should try to breast feed. I know that it is not always easy - my wife had a hard time to start with - it is more demanding on the mother - but the rewards are so much more han giving a bottle. When I was in hospital, watching a mother giver her newborn son a bottle, it just looked so wrong. We are mammals. Mammals breastfeed. That is all there is to it.

Formula milk does not provide all the goodness that breastmilk does.
Formula does not increase boding between mother and baby
Breastfeeding does not require bottles to be washed, sterilised, milk to be prepared, stored, warmed, etc. Baby cries, on the breast, baby drinks, back to sleep.

Anyone that suggests that breastfeeding is in any way bad is just completely, totally, undoubtedly, wrong.
