Default Advice please 15 mo. old at beach

Hi everyone! I am new here. I was hoping those with experience could give me some advice. We normally take a one week trip to the beach in the summer. DS will be 15 months old or so around the time we normally go. I am wondering if one week will be too long since it we probably won't be able to hang out on the beach like we used to. I don't want to spend the $$ and time to sit in a hotel or rented house just to sit inside most of the time. I think 30 min. tops would be a lot for a little one out in the sun but I am not sure. What do any of you think?
Thank you!

30 minutes is plenty of time in direct sunlight for a little person.
There are ways to protect your little one without sacrificing your time at the beach though:

Check out One Step Ahead. They make some great warm weather products to protect kids. You can get great little spf coverall suits or spf suits that look like little wetsuits. You can also get play yards with sun shades there.

You may also consider a little 2-man pop tent that would provide shade for your little one to play and nap in without being in direct sunlight.

Of course, even with all of these things, and even if you're only out for 30 minutes at a time, you should remember to keep your child covered from head to toe with sunscreen. A baby's skin & scalp can burn in less than 10 minutes. (Yes, they make sunscreen spray for the scalp and you should DEFINITELY use it.) In addition to sunscreen, be sure to pack plenty of water for your little guy to drink while he's playing. Avent makes some great little sippy cups with caps that are fabulous for traveling. Check them out here: http://www.onestepahead.com/product/85204/1230/117.html

Lastly, you'll want to make sure you have a safe flotation device like a life jacket, a nd a little bucket, shovel and cup for your little guy to enjoy plaing in the water and sand.

If you prepare and plan accordingly, there is no reason your little one can't enjoy your trip to the beach as much as you do.
