finally! it's been months of fighting with the state w. medicaid & it became active today, so tomorrow @ 8:30 i'll be seeing my new doctor! most people in town go to this office, and they're pretty well respected. i haven't even been to them yet, and i've already talked to them 3-4 times and so far they seem to really take care of their patients! i'm really happy and optimistic, and i hopefully won't have any issues with this doctor as i did with my last. this doctor also normally does an ultrasound at the first visit, so there's a REALLY good chance we'll see bean tomorrow too! of course, it depends on the insurance, so i'm not sure if they will or not.

regardless, we'll be seeing him/her in the next 3 weeks b/c of the genetics testing. i refused it with DD, but with everything my sister just went/is going through, we're doing it this time. our family has no history of birth defects, so for it to suddenly pop up, is kinda nerve racking. i'm also really nervous b/c i'm still not showing (like, AT ALL), and with DD i was showing within a month.

I thought I was showing but it turned out I was bloated. If I lay completely flat on my back with a full bladder I have a little teeny pouch of baby. I am sure everything will be fine. We will be doing the testing too but they dont do an ultrasound unless you get the Nuchal Translucency test which is usually done around 12 weeks. I got to see the baby three times already and I have medicaid its covered if its considered medically neccesary. so they may code it special for you. Mine were coded for a suspected ectopic, suspected miscarraige and the last one was ordered through the ER so it seemed like an emergency

That's great news that your Medicaid is finally kicking in! Will this be your very first doc visit with this baby? It's good timing because many clinics don't see you till around 10 weeks anyway! That was just a few weeks ago.

And don't worry about the showing... It's still really early to show, for most people. And you have said how small you are, and I assume you're in pretty good shape and that usually means you won't show as quickly because your abs are stronger and are able to restrict the uterus from expanding out as much at first. With my first I was in really good shape and didn't start showing until around 23-25 weeks, at earliest! With my second... not so much! It was closer to about 16-18 weeks or so. I do have pics of myself at 14 weeks where there is a really small bump, but no one else could tell.

sorry gals! i popped on here last night & the site wasn't working, so i couldn't update.

the doctor we met with is fantastic. she first had us go into her office & talk. dh & i felt like we were in the principals office lol. she's highly "decorated", harvard, stanford, the whole ivy league school thing. (not quite sure what she's doing down here!) she pulled up my sisters file and transfered her notes into mine. then we did an ultrasound! horray! bean was SO active. s/he'd jump up, spin, go back down & repeat. i was super relieved. then, instead of going back to bed, she sent us for the first tri screening. so i got to see him/her again! it was amazing. i've already seen this one more than i ever saw DD, and i've talked to my doctor more than i ever did with DD.

dh didn't go with me to the first tri screening. he said he didn't want to know if anything was wrong, but i think he just wanted to go back to bed so my best friend came with me.

alright ladies i'm going to be late for work! i'll pop on tonight & try to get the pics uploaded

ETA: my due date was changed too. it's now oct 11th. which is what i thought in the beginning.
