I know a lot of ladies on here are taking Metformin. I wanted to share some info with you girls. I was on a high dose of met. about 2000mg a day. I had a lot of side effects from it. It never really did anything for my PCOS symptoms. So my REI brought up Actos. I was on it for 4 months when I finally got pregnant. I loved the stuff. I didn't have any side effects and most of my PCOS symptoms started to go away or become better.I just wanted you ladies to know that there are other options besides met. The only draw back is I had to get blood work every 2 months to make sure my liver was ok. It's rare for it to effect your liver but my Dr. wanted to be on the safe side (met can also effect certain organs as well). I also had to stop it once I became pregnant. If you are looking for more "natural" ways of treating your PCOS or insulin resistance then look at the first link. Below are some links with info on Actos. If your taking met check out the links. Sending all of you TONS of baby dust!
