Animal Crossing is a very kid oriented game.
I do not recall the word "punk" listed for not saving the game.
That does not mean that the word was not present on your game system.

Some of the things the animals say
can frequently changed by the users (you) to other little sayings.

We have played this game at our house for quite some time (years, in fact) on two different game systems - X-Box (I think) and the new WII game.

My son and husband were playing it tonight. Lots of autumn fun right now with the pumpkins.
They have not heard the word 'punk,' but save it each time.

The game is meant to be saved each and every time for the continuity of playing.
Why does your daughter not wish to save the game and challenges each time?
It helps to accumulate different gifts and items that makes the game more fun.
