Default Another use for Cura-Heat

The Cura-Heat personal heating pads that are FAR this month at Walgreens came in helpful for me recently. I woke up one morning with a clogged milk duct and tried everything to relieve the pain. My little man wasn't able to get enough to eat and I was in pain- we both cried through the day. I finally remembered that I had a box of these in the cabinet (from the last time they were free ). I opened it and stuck it to the outside of my bra over the "affected area"- I ended up taping it because the sticky stuff wasn't strong enough to hold it in place. However, the heat did do wonders to relieve the pain. Furthermore, after it was there for about half an hour, I tried to feed him again. He was able to nurse with great big gulps. These pads did the trick and provided a lot of relief for both of us! I ended up needing to repeat the "treatment" a few times over the next week or so but I was able to resolve the problem. I just thought I would mention it in case there was someone who could benefit from this idea without having to suffer for several hours!

Default Cura-Heat Pads are Dangerous

PLEASE, please be very careful using the Cura-Heat pads as I've suffered a 3rd degree burn from it. I had used this product many times before without any problems. On Jan. 2, 2007, I applied the pad as usual, only to awake with a baseball size blister on my hip. After having the wound debrided twice, I ended up having to see a burn surgeon who had never seen something like this. He had me scheduled for surgery within 4 days for a full-thinkness skin graft after he cleaned the wound down to healthy tissue. I was on crutches for days and needed strong pain medication. I have to wait for at least 12 months to see whether cosmetic surgery will be needed.
Yes, I do have an attorney as I feel that the product was defective. Please feel free to email me if you have suffered a burn from this product. I can be reached at earlene40701@yahoo.com.
To Dr. Kevin Bailey and the Burn Unit at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, thank you for your wonderful care.
