Can't believe it is so very dry this fall. Big photo in the newspaper about a big lake in one of the southern states that is down 25 feet.

"No diving" signs were 25 feet in the air. Hard to imagine.

Sending you good wishes for rain & cooler weather.

Yes, i know its been dry down here for so long. Franklin, a little north of here, has had over 580 people get their water cut off for violating the restrictions. Thanks, for your wishes. **Doing Rain Dance**

It is hard to believe that major metropolitan areas are facing such dire water conditions now and the outlook looks bleak. It is even harder to believe that the national press is *just* starting to cover this!

Texas has every intention of having enough water for 2x the population during a severe multi-year drought underway right now. Texas became focused on water during a drought in the 1950's, and has not relented in preparing for water needs. Just in the most recent legislative session, our Water Resources Board chairman marshalled funding for more land and more reservoirs to supply 2x the current population for a hellacious drought 50 years hence. We just came out of a 10-year drought this past Spring, and the foresight 50 years ago had enough water for all.

I do wish that by understanding that it can be done in an arid state most of you hate,
you will resolve to do it in whichever unprepared state you find yourselves in. Or, just move to Texas. We have enough water.

Water management in GA is becoming a problem - Farmers depend on it for much of the state, which is rural, and the Atlanta sprawl just keeps demanding more. Anyone in GA have an update on this, or know what is being done?

Do you mean desalinization? I recall this was discussed in the 1960s, don't know where the idea went.
