Default Anti-Theft Ink Tags on Clothing

Every store has them in some way, shape, or form
on clothes.

Tuesday, I bought new dresses at 2 different dress stores in town.
How fun!
They were on sale too.

I always wash clothes before wearing them.
Who really knows how many other people have tried them on before me.

I found 1 left-on anti-theft ink tag on one jacket, just as it was about to go into
my washer.

Took it back into town w/ me when I drove son to church today.
Got the tag removed at the 1st dress shop. It never dinged when I left with my
purchases, but it did ding when I took it back in today.

Tonight, showered, washed my hair, you know the routine,
and I am starting to pack to go to St. Louis tomorrow.

A 2nd dress had an anti-theft ink tag left on again!

So, I put on shorts and drove back into town (35 miles round trip)
to get the 2nd stinking ink tag removed!
This one did not ding when I purchased it or when I returned to the store to have it removed.

Grrrr!

Ever have this problem?

Grr yes. I received a Christmas gift, a pretty green shirt, from my dh's grandma for Christmas this past year. I was pretty preggo so I wasn't able to try on the shirt until after I had naomi in March. Well when i pulled it out I noticed one of those devices still on the sleeve! Now it had been almost 3 months since Christmas and I don't even live in the same state as it was purchased so the gift receipt was expired and it might look a little fishy anyways. Plus it was purchased from a store I never go to for anything so it would be an extra trip with a toddler and new baby...I am embarrassed to say I threw the shirt away to avoid the hassle of it all.

I had this happen last year at Old Navy. I bought boys jeans. Did not beep on the way out, but when we went back in to have the tag removed, it did beep.

Always bring the store or credit card receipt with you.

What irritates me is when you buy lots of stuff on sale, and set it aside for the school year, or team sport, or whatever. Then when the kid goes to put it on, the tag is there, and you may not have the receipt.

sometime the assistant forgets... when i was working not all of our clothes had the tags on it, but i made it a habit that while folding the clothes to go into the bag i would pat them down, feeling for a tag... on side note not all tags have the alarm in them

We shop a lot at the outlet stores, which are 40 minutes away. I always ask "did you remove all the tags?" It's habit, I always ask.

I will not drive 80 minutes to have tags removed after I get home. I do pat bags, but you can't always feel them.

I mail the item to corporate headquarters and ask them to remove the tag, reimburse me for postage and mail it back. They always have. I don't mind waiting the extra week for the item. I just won't drive 80 minutes

I'm not sure why those tags are even used. As we've all posted, at least 50% of the time, they don't work. Clerks forget to remove them and customers get irritated. I'm just not sure how this is a help to the store????
