Default Any Good Sites of Books For New Parent

Hello to all! I watch my nephew daily. He is with me for about 13 hours a day - so I am his primary care I take him to the doctors - everything. He just went for his 1 year old visit and was told he may be developmentally delayed. We go back in 3 months to check progress. I know all the milestones an average baby should follow and how to get them there etc. But I can not find anything on how to help a developmentally delayed child progress. Also, his head size was in the 95th percentile - does that affect this delay? I can't seem to find any info, but again I just came home from the doctors and am still a little overwhelmed by the news. I want to do everything possible to help him - he is so precious. Thanks for all the help.

Default Of Course

I have definatley spoken to his parents - that's a given. However, my brother is a newbee parent and wants all the help he can get and has asked for advice. I had none! ! So I came here to try and get some. His mom works so many hours she has no time and doesn't mind either, she almost expected me to help, which I love that we are so close with each other that we just sort of expect the other one to be there when we need it : )

Ok hear is what you do
sit in the floor facing your child and pour dry pinto beens all around him
give him 2 cups and a spoon and a plastic bole.
sit in front of him with your own spoon and start placing the beens in the cups and poring them out.
Don't worry if he isn't watching you just act as if you are having the best time in the world all by yourself.
Poor the beanies on his leg and then fill the paper cup again and poor it o his leg again.
Soon he will be playing this game of mental concentration and motor skills all by himself.
Try rice pees noodles and anything dry food related .
I shouldn't have to tell you that the floor has to be clean for this and that you will need a broom handy.
Set a hand timer on the floor beside him set to for 30 to 40.
when it goes off have him help you place the beans in a large Tupperware bole
positive results should be seen within one week.
