Thanks!,

Well. . .what do you feel like you need? Or are you just anxious to get started?

The two best things I would suggest is to read to your child lots. . .and lots. . .and lots and to take advantage of local areas of interest. . .parks, museums, concerts, etc. I'm not a big pk fan though.

Thumbs up Printable Books

If you hurry Learning A-Z is providing their pay sites for free this week as a teacher appreciation special. You can also go back after this week and print out free samples. When my kids were that age their school used the sites to print out take home books for the kids. I found that if you sign up for free samples they have a big list of books in the free samples section. They just have sample written on the cover. You download them all as PDF files so you can look at them online or print them any time you want. Some of the books have a worksheet too. My kids loved that they could color in the books too.

Families.com has a wealth of information in the blogs regarding homeschooling preschoolers. You can find the preschool page here

As far as a preschool curriculum, I would stick to something fun and animated like Reader Rabbit or Time4learning.

Default Free Preschool Bible Curriculum

We use the free preschool Bible Curriculum at:
www.abcjesuslovesme.com
We love the simpliticity and how it is geared toward the active preschooler. The website is very easy to navigate and everything is there for you so basically no prep work is needed!! It's great. Focuses on academics and Bible foundation with songs, rhymes, letters, numbers, colors, basic math, etc.
Hope this helps you!!

I agree with Twinsplus3, the major part of homeschooling toddlers is to read to them a lot and take them to various activities and events that are appropriate for their growth and development stages. I would also add working on their pre-writing skills like drawing or coloring-you can pick up a variety of crayons and coloring books at Target or Walmart. Adding arts and crafts may also be helpful if your child is ready-Micheal's sells a variety of children's arts and crafts supplies based on ages and stages.

I homeschool a 3 and 1 year old. I read to both of them about 3 times a day. I practice writing, and arts and crafts with my 3 year old after his nap almost everyday. I also take them both to the park twice a day (morning and evening), pending the weather permits. I also take my 3 year old to various places like the children's muesem, water park, zoo, etc. about once a week-my 1 year old will come too if the activity is appropriate for her.

If you decide to get a curriculum, stick to something fairly simple and look to your child for clues as to how much to do. The goal of homeschooling a toddler is to make learning fun and develop a love of learning in them. Be careful not to overwhelm your child with too much, too soon in an attempt to "make" them learn certain things before they are ready-this will only backfire in the end.
