Default anyone else stuck in the past

Just wondering if any one is like me and reminisces (sp) about their past. I find myself constantly thinking about my trip to USA 12 yrs ago (I am in Australia) I had the time of my life and think of my time there almost every day. I think about good memories, things that happened, seeing your beautiful country, and it may just be that something triggers a memory for me.

I am even still now downloading my holiday pics onto my website, and dream of travelling back one day. It will be when I am older and a mum, but thats great, it will be a different type of trip to the bus tour full of drinking mates from all over the world.

Am I a bit strange to still think like this, and long for days gone by? Anyone else do this?

No you are not wrong. The older we get, the more we do this. Sounds like you had fun!

Just realize that when you come back, it is that many years later, the reality doesn't care what you remember, and you are also that many years older, so your experience and perceptions may be different.

But you should come back.

Do you really long for the USA, or for the good time you had with those friends on that trip?

There are certain years I cannot think of, yet they are in my mind all the time. I like it when something triggers a memory of when I was alot younger and without judgement.

I actually live in the past quite often, but not in the sense that I want to go back, but just that its easy for me to remember. I shock my family everyday by the things I remember. I do have memories before I was two. So in short I can remember most long term events...but ask me what I had for supper last night and I draw a blank.

I always find this strange. When my husband and I go back to visit an area,a place or building etc...... that we enjoyed or liked from years ago, it always seems much smaller than we remember, never ever the opposite. I always wonder why? Ah well, just a thought!

Great to recall happy memories of our past.

One thing about memories, I tend to remember the happy ones.
The sad ones tend to fade.
I believe that is purposeful editing, as Ray stated on "Everybody Loves Raymond."

I think a lot about things from the past too. Things like how different my family was when I was little, to birthdays, to elementary school, to high school, old friends, college, jobs. I have a great memories for useless details, and yet can hardly remember 2 days ago. If you want to know what I did 2 days ago wait a year or 2 then ask me and I'll be able to tell you!

Yep, I sometimes do reminisce things that are from my past. When I'm kinda in my "emo" mode, that usually happens. Like when I was just lying down in my bed, I thought of the stupid things my friends and I do way back in highschool, it just made me laugh. .
