Default Anyone find a Wii for Christmas?

Wii would like to play. But to do that it has to be in the stores. I think it sells as fast as they get it - seems to be one of those things where they have a lot of demand and don't make enough. Same for some of the Rock Band games.

Anyone else seeing this?

Absolutely. I've been having a similar experience. Most of the stores near me get a small new shipment once a week..and it usually comes in 5 hours before the store opens and there is a line! It is quite the craze this holiday season...While it will be considerably more expensive..you can find many brand new wii's on ebay.

Ever since the Wii was released I don't think any store has done a good job in getting enough of them. We got one about 3 months ago and that was after we called Game Stop three times to see if their shipment had come in, and when they did get it in they only got 3of them. I think Nintendo is trying to create such a hype over it that they aren't releasing them on purpose but it's cauing such a headache for people that after a while people are going to give up. X boxes came out in full force and it's not so hard to find one of those but Nintendo aggravated me with the way they handled the demand. We even went as far as to look on Ebay because we wanted one so bad. Yeah I'm not paying 400 dollars for a system that only costs 250....

My mil started looking for them in October, and picked up 3, one for herself, her grandson, and dh and I! They are our Christmas gift. Her mom went with her and bought one. She was going to sell it on e-bay, (her grandkids con'd her into that) but I found a home with a friend who needed one.

I'll keep an eye out though.

I am just wondering because my godsons were interested, they are having issues finding it in Maryland, and I can't find it here.

I think the folks selling it on ebay are making good money for standing in line at a ridiculous hour - or planning to do Christmas shopping in October.

I had to wait in line for one in October...they sold all of them in 5 min. I would recommend asking your electronics person at best buy/future shop when they are getting there next shipment, then asking when they open and making a line very early.

You can also see if toysRus has any on-line....we bought or 360 through them. HTH and Good luck....they are very hard to find.

Lindsay, if you see one, or if that extra one does not make it to the good home you found for it, please let me know what your mil might want for it, and pm me.

all stores only get about 3 - 5 wiis, once a week. it's all apart of nintendo's way of keeping up the hype (a year later, they're ridiculously hard to find -- even when it's not the holidays). there are sites that post about wii shipments -- what stores, when, how many. (they can be found through a simple google search).

I did finally find one for the BF but I also started looking in August. Every few days I called local Best buy stores as well as game stop stores. I got duped in late August at a game stop seems they put the boxes with price tags in the window but have no systems available for purchase....made me so mad. I got lucky one best buy store I called in November had gotten a shipment of 76 wiis, and buy the time I called 2 hours after they had opened they said they had 20 left in stock...50 sold in 2 hours. So I knew I wasn't going to be able to get off work and get there before the last 20 sold. I remembered that BF's mom works about 10 minutes from that best buy, so I called her and she picked it up for me and when she got there she said there were only 5 left. It is crazy!!! I know the other night people were camping out with tents and everything to get one. Good luck to all of you trying to find one, maybe there will be more after the holidays.

We have waited in so many lines for way tooooo many hours. Target has the best bets, according to a gamestop employee target got the contract on them, so they should get the most in. We gave up, got other stuff instead, will get one later in the year.
