Question Anyone have a husband you love but they are controlling...

Hello -Dont know where to start - married 6 years together 8 - We have a 2 year old child. I used to be fine with his Obsessive compulisive behavior (wiping down counters, loading diswasher, not allowing the bathroom trash bins to be used, and MANY MORE ISSUES) but now I am VERY tired of it and almost ready to walk. BUT I LOVE HIM> We have so many issues- are there really any happy marraiges. He always questions what I do, say, and every move i make. It makes me feel as though I can not meet any of his needs and expectations. He is an awesome dad, but if we did not have our daughter - i would be gone. How do I get through this and keep my marriage ---Thx to any ideas.............Me

I think you need to have a talk as see what you are getting from this relationship. Just because you have a daughter together does not mean you should be in an unhappy relationship. Have you tired to talk to him....tried counseling separate or together?

Yes, there are medications to help with OCD behaviors.

What is going to happen to your daughter when she becomes a preteen or a teenager with a father who has OCD. Perhaps at that point, what you have been experiencing as the wife will also happen to her.

He needs help. Go back to the doctor with him.

Wishing you the best.

I agree with this.

His issues are HIS issues. He needs to get help, there's no getting around it. If he won't, then the question is what are you going to do?

And here's something else to think about-if you raise your daughter in this environment, you're teaching her that it's acceptable for HER to be treated the same way by her future mate. You have to ask yourself how you'd feel if your daughter was married to someone just like him...you deserve the same as what you'd expect for your daughter.
