Are flu shots standard?
Is the flu shot a standard shot, or do you have to request it for an infant? This is one of the shots we're NOT doing with Kenzie.. and I have NO idea if she already got it or not.. I really should have asked- I feel like a dork- but assumed it wasn't apart of the schedule.

Well. . .it should be on her immunization card--do they give you one of those? But they should always talk you through the immunizations that you're getting on that day and any potential side affects. They didn't do that?

my doctors dont talk about them, they just assume you know.
depending on how old she was during flu season, she probably didnt get it. i think if they're under 1 year they don't get it.. but it could be 6 months.

They went through the list of what she'd be given so I could sign for them.. I just don't recall if that was on there or not! There are a few we're not doing/delaying- and this is one of them. The CDC has it on the reccomended schedule- guess I'll be calling on Monday.

Yea, the CDC says 6 months.. She's a bit behind on her regular shots anyway(at 6 months, she was getting the 4 month vaccines- most of them anyway)..So, 6 months would have been last month.. hmm?! Thanks a lot. I feel like a goof. I have a list of ones I want to avoid but ALL but this one are def on the schedule.. and I know when.. hahah
Yep, ours assumes you know, too. Most of them I have researched a lot..
Thanks again!

My ped doesn't give it under 1 but wanted the rest of us to get one last fall. I laughed and then declined that suggestion.

I saw that too on my immunization papers. I wondered about that. Here in Houston the flu runs wild during the winter. It's awful. I'll ask Robert's ped about this. Seems awfully young for this shot, but then again when babies get the flu it is horrible. Hmmm... good topic though. I was wondering the same thing!

My ped also has me sign and usually gives papers on it but not always. Depends on the nurse that day actually. I have a hard time keeping track of whats going on myself! I'm sure if you ask they'll give you a list of what she has and hasn't had.

my dr is the same, she feels that they need to build the immune system... here in australia you actually do need to ask for it
