Default are milk and egg allergies related??

I just fed Kaydee scrambled eggs (made with Lactaid milk) She was having a bad day already (I gave her a waffle which I later figured out was made with milk ) But when I fed her the eggs, she took about 2 bites then didnt want anymore. I got her down from the high chair, and next thing ya know she was throwing up (a lot too) She hadnt eaten very much of the eggs but that was all that was coming up (mixed with some of her bottle, gross i know)

Are these allergies related?? That is the first time i gave her scrambled eggs.

I read that they are both Type 1 allergies, but most people allergic to eggs are allergic to chicken as well...she does great with chicken that i bake at home.

I cant wait until she gets her blood tests done...

I always thought that egg whites were in the "do not give to babies under 1 year" category. I am not sure why, I will try to look it up.

it could've been the egg white, since they're not supossed to have it until they're a year. if they're allergic to egg, it's because of the egg protein which is found in the white part. how much longer until her allergy test?

I found this information
"At 8 months, you can add hard-boiled egg yolks, cottage cheese, and plain low-fat yogurt to the menu. Avoid egg whites due to possible allergic reactions; mash the yolk with formula and/or cereal. "
At this address http://www.essortment.com/all/babiesfeedings_rhux.htm
I found the same basic quote on several other sites but no additional info. Just says "possible allergic reaction" and not much else. It probably won't cause her any lasting harm, esp since she only took a few bites and then threw that up.

The ped OK'd it when i went in 2 days ago because she cant really eat anything else (all made with milk) She pretty much told me to watch for an allergic reaction which would have cause a rash and such...didnt get any of that, just the spitup. I think we will just stay away from eggs anyways for now

Her allergy test will be in august....i think the 4th or 5th

It could have been just still from having had the waffle??
But, it could be to the eggs.
Hang in there, not long till the test.

Poor Kaydee. Hope things get figured out soon. Eggs were on our avoid list, too. I think just the whites though! I was thinking of making K some yolk only scrambled eggs.

Jamie couldn't have egg whites and Pip tried them a while ago, there was alot of vomit. Most babies can't break down egg white, so if it doesn't come back up, you should see the mess that comes out the other end.

ok so since Kaydee has done nothing but puke all day I decided its time to switch to an all soy, no dairy diet. I got Silk (soy milk) and will be starting it tomorrow. I also bought a whole bunch of new foods for her (all Boca and soy foods) There are only 2 Gerber Graduate meals she can have so I got those, as well as fruits and veggies. I also found cinnamon raison bagels (mini's) that do not contain milk!

gonna cost me an arm and a leg but shes worth it
