Default Asthma

I think CeJay has asthma... I was watching TV the other day, and there was one for a a child's asthma medicine, and the mom was like, "I didn't realize that my sons coughing at night was due to asthma" and a little light bulb went off say "Hey, CeJay coughs all night!" and I had never thought much off it... I looked it up on line, and he has a few of the other symptoms, the deep breathes and coughing at night and coughing after he runs a lot... I am not sure, but Vinnie has a doc appt. tomorrow, so I am going to mention it to the doc while we are there.... Every website that I looked at only had like 4 symptoms... does anyone know anything about it? It does run in my family, so I wouldn't be that shocked, but I just don't know if I am being paranoid ((like always)) about nothing...

My DS#2 's pediatrician wouldn't label it as asthma as a little boy due to insurance problems later on, should we change insurance.

I believe she called it upper respiratory syndrome....or something similar.

Check with your doctor to get a good handle on what is going on with the breathing, coughing.

It's definitely worth mentioning. I know my brother has a very distinct wheeze...I hear it in other kids who have asthma (he's no longer a kid-but he does still have asthma).

(((hugZ))) he should be ok. I found that because Alejandro was diagnosed early he is now so used to it. He has become responsible for his treatments and knows when he needs them

(((HUGS))) At least it's manageable. Most kids have totally "normal" childhoods and outgrow it. It just takes a little bit of extra effort with the medicine & monitoring his symptoms. Poor kid though-that's rough.

Thanks for your support! I just feel so bad for him! He is such a good kid and all the bad stuff happens to him! The doc said that a lot of kids out grow it, so I am not that worried, and as of right now, it is just a treatment at night, and if he ever gets a bad cough spell, or when he is sick, just to help... Now I just have to figure out how to work the nebulizer!!
