Default Atheist/Agnostic/Alternative Beliefs Forum

Hi, I did not see a forum for posting by the above groups of people. Maybe there aren't enough in these parts to warrant their own forum? I'd love to discuss parenting with other non-religious folks . .

Sorry for the double post, I posted it in the Buddhist community as well, since it was the closest thing to my own beliefs that actually had a forum. Mods, feel free to delete it!

Wlcome, Heidiree!

We've had some interest in alternative beliefs sections - it usually comes and goes. I am very open to ideas about this, and the subject is still one I am working on.

We have some agnostics and athiests who post - and gosh, they get the discussions so interesting, I hate to separate them into their own space - but maybe we need a more general "everyone else" category.

We do get people who post dissenting views and then someone always wants to know "what are you doing in the Christian forum if you are not Christian". But here at families.com we have always encouraged our members to join discussions regardless of category, as long as it is done with respect.

So what do you all think? "Everyone else"? "None of the Above"? "Non traditional beliefs" (um, well, whose traditions would be "non"....)

I would love an atheist/agnostic forum. (I am new BTW ) I love talking about religion with people but its nice to have a place of your own too. I belong to another site where Christians and Muslims come to our little thread quite often, there have been some odd conversations and there have been some really great conversations but not everyone wants to read these conversations. I think we have all learned a lot though.

I've looked into other atheist sites but thats really not my cup of tea. I have also seen other boards that have atheist groups but they have all been friends for a long time on their private boards. So its a little weird. lol

Please let us know if you decide to make an atheist/agnostic board, I would be very interested.
I could even help if you needed me too. ( I am new though lol)

Thanks!

It is a good thing that people who either do not believe in god , if they are not sure if he? exists, or for someone has a totally different belief all together now has somewhere to talk about it.

I am reworking various parts of the board, and will see what I can do about this. I will add something this week.

Exciting! Thanks McMama! I'm not atheist/agnostic/etc...I guess I fall into an "other beliefs" category. It would be nice to meet some people who have other views too and have a place to chat about stuff. THANKS!
