I called the Jewel corporate offices in Melrose Park on Friday to ask a few questions about Avenu and the Rep in Charge of running it called me back yesterday and was VERY, VERY nice and gave me lots of answers to the frequently answered questions about Avenu and I wanted to share them with you all. The Q's are me talking and A's are from the rep.
Q: Avenu is a pretty new program and I have been noticing it is NOT in all stores yet. Will it be in all stores eventually?
A: Right now what you are seeing is the BETA program. We began rolling it out in just a few stores to test it and are gradually rolling out more and more stores. You can expect to see the online version in ALL Jewel stores by early to late November. Then after the new year up until early spring, we will begin adding kiosks to all stores. The program should be completely in all stores by early spring.
Q: Can I get the Avenu savings even if I don't view my savings either online or via kiosk?
A: No, in order to get the savings you must register your card for the day (either online or kiosk) or have registered it and then extended your offers for 2 days. Even if you happen to be shopping and pick up an item that is on your list for the day, if you didn't view your ads until after shopping or not at all, the discount won't come off. If your offers are extended you don't have to view it again until they expire.
Q: When I extend my offers, my DH's offer get extended also. Why is that? (this happened to me yesterday)
A: The cards and offers are connected via phone numbers and addresses. So any cards from the same household will have the same offers therefore if one is extended the computer recognizes the same phone number/address and automatically extends the other offers.
Q: How are the savings determined for each card?
A: The savings that appear on your cards are determined by your past purchasing history. If there is a product that you have purchased in the past or something you very frequently purchase, the discount will come up more often for you. We also try to add discounts for new products to help sell the product. We also try to add products that are similar to some of your regularly purchased products and of course of Jewel brand products.
Q: Do I have to live in the vicinity of a participating store in order to receive the discount or am I eligible to receive the discount as long as I register my card online or via kiosk?
A: As long as you register your card online or via kiosk and then shop at a PARTICIPATING store you are eligible for the discounts. No matter if you live 1 mile or 100 miles from the nearest participating store. ALL Preferred card members are eligible for the discount as long as you are registering your card and viewing your deals. To register your card just go to
www.jewelosco.com click on My avenu offers on the lower left side, then on the upper right side input your card number twice and click login. You can now view your offers and go to the nearest participating store to cash in your savings.
Q: Is there is limit to how many discounts will be applied per order?
A: No. If you buy 1 or 50 of the product that is on your avenu, the discount will come off each one.
The lady I spoke with was VERY,VERY, VERY nice and very helpful. She gave me her number to call if I have any further questions about the program.
