So apparently I am the only person in my family who didn't think my 16 month old daughter having bad dreams was strange...She cries in her sleep real loud and sometimes even wakes herself up. Is this not normal? My family said that babies that young shouldn't be having bad dreams and that she shouldn't even remember the bad things that happen (such as falling down and getting hurt or shots at the doctor or being pushed at the playground) I however beleive she can remeber and that must be the things she's dreaming about because what else could it be??

I have also seen her waving and heard her saying hi and smiling(at the same time) when she was clearly asleep...so she has good dreams too

Does anyone else have a young baby who has bad dreams?? Is my baby weird? Should I be concerned? or is my family weird for having never experianced this in such a young baby (she's been doing it since she was 11 months) Between my 3 sisters I have 7 neices and 1 nephew (sp?)

Just wanna bump this up a bit and see if someone can tell me that my daughter is normal...or that I should be doing something different.

My babies always dreamed. Usually nice dreams, they would smile, and occasionally even coo softly in their sleep, but my son used to actually cry in his sleep. Sometimes I would hear him crying and go check on him and find that he was still asleep. He eventually outgrew it.
