Default Bf and cold meds???!

Help!!
I am sooooo congested, my nose actually feels swollen. I am starting to get a really bad cough.......oh what fun. I haven't taken anything for it at all. Partly because I don't want to pass anything on to Tiffers, but also cuz she has a really bad cough and was taking Donatusin. (Rx) So of course I coulndn't risk giving her anything through the milk that would mix with the Donatusin. Tonight will be the last Donatusin she gets. As she is doing a lot better. So I need to take something tomorrow. I don't want it to interfere with milk production though and I have heard that some cold meds do. Also we are tcc, even though I am not pg yet I have to keep in mind that I might be. (too soon to test)
Is musinex to strong to take? Robitusin? Has anyone had problems with supply after taking these???
I can't beleive how miserable this cold has been. It just doesn't seem to improve at all.
I have had some tea, and it did help a little, but not as much as I had hoped.
Thank you for any suggestions or help.

I was reading your post and I was going to give my standard reply: take tylenol cold. But then as I'm reading I realized you really need to go to a doctor. A cold that doesn't improve whatsoever after a week or so is generally not a cold.

As far as meds and breastfeeding. . .the drugs in Sudafed are a no no. Otherwise there's very little that isn't safe as far as OTC cold meds. There's just not enough of it that passes through the breastmilk to be a concern. Plus there's always the misery factor. . .if you're that miserable, you need to take something and/or see a doctor.

As far as possibly being pg, that's a non-issue. You can take cold meds while pg. Furthermore, most of the world just gets pg. . .there is not this massive ttc effort. They don't realize they're in a 2ww and do all sorts of stuff. Of course you should do whatever is comfortable, and my first piece of advice stands. . .you need to see a doctor. But OTC cold meds are not a big deal.
