Default BFP but LOW Prog.

Hi, all! I'm 10 DPO. Got BFP this AM. Yay!!! Anyway, called my doc. right away b/c of previous m/c. My HCG came back 23 and Progesterone 9.7. They said normal is 9.3-30, but b/c of my history they prescribed Prometrium.
Has anyone taken this before? I know to expect nausea, dizziness, and exhaustion. But, has anyone been given this and had a successful pregnancy? I'd really like to hear some positive outcomes.
Thanks in advance

I have never used that med but I was on a progesterone cream for the first 3 months of pregnancy b/c of low levels and other than the stuff being kinda messy I really didnt have any problems. I would say it works b/c I am still pregnant but then my Dr. did tell me that if your going to m/c than even the cream wont stop it. It's just used to keep levels in a normal range and help support the pregnancy, not prevent a m/c. I hope it works for you! GOOD LUCK!

I think my friend had a similar problem she had low progesterone and was on some type of pill she had to insert into herself, I would say it helped her daughter just turned one last month. Good luck!

I've been on it for 2 pregnancies now, I don't have a past history of m/c so I don't know why I was on it other than my numbers were low in the beginning. My first progesterone pill baby is about to turn 3 and I'm almost 16 weeks (and off the Prometrium now) with this one.

It works, but I am going to warn you in advance, prepare for hellacious mood swings. You get moody being pregnant anyway, but the progesterone is going to make it worse. And I don't know what your doctor said, but I always took my Prometrium at night because it made me drowsy. Don't worry, I was afraid being on it too, but I haven't had any problems being on it either. Usually they keep you on it until you're 13 weeks- just to get you through your first trimester. Good luck and congrats on your BFP!!

I took my third dose last night and BIG mistake. DH decided to go out to dinner afterward and .....well, I had to be practically carried out of the restaurant. I was so embarrassed. I wouldn't have taken it 1)if it had ever done that to me before 2) I'd known we'd be going out. But, thanks for the well wishes.
I had f/u lab this am and waiting for results.

OK.....my levels are looking good! HCG 142
Prog. 15
I'm having them rechecked on Sunday. I'm so excited!!
