Just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm a long-time teacher who's about to give it all up to travel around the world with my kids and dog. My husband and I will be taking off in June to ride our bikes from Alaska to Argentina with our 10-year-old twin boys and the family dog - less than six weeks til we take off!!
In 2006-07 we took a year off from school and spent twelve months cycling 9300 miles around the USA and Mexico - we had a blast!

I would love to just take off and go biking for a few months....of course i am sure theres lots of hard work and planning that goes into it, but its just very awesome!
Oh cripes!! that's the understatement of the year!! Right now we are totally involved in the last minute preparations - and it's driving us crazy!! I can't wait to get on the road and leave it all behind - whatever didn't get done by that point won't get done. That will be a GREAT feeling!!
