Default Birth Control Question *TMI*

I have been on Deprovera since May 2nd and haven't had a period since June. So I was very surprise when I started bleeding today. I am also having pains that I had when I was pregnant...What is going on? Is this normal?? I am worried and don't really know what to think.

I was on Depo a number of years ago and it was not the BC for me let me tell you!!!! I would bleed soooo heavily that I often ended up tying a jacket or sweater around my waist if I was out because I would soak through everything...quickly!!! I also bled more days in a month than not...I also suffered from really, really bad migraines!!! I eventually after about the 3rd shot or so made the connection b/w what I was experiencing and the BC...I didn't make the connection sooner b/c I knew of several people who swore by Depo and I just didn't really think about it enough...I eventually went on the net and got some info plus I also had a friend who had the exact same symptoms as I did and was also on Depo...went to the dr and came to the conclusion that it was just not for me...Don't know if this really answers your question or not but I thought I would give you some food for thought and let you know what I have experienced!!! HTH...

Ditto..depo is not good of you ever want to TTC again...if you don't want any children and are willing to put up with the side effect (like breakthrough bleeding) then this is the BCp method for you. I suggest switching to something else if you ever want to TTC again.

Thank you. I do want another child...and I wasthinking about quiting the Depo anyway because I think it is making me crazy. I just haven't been myself since I started it and at first I thought it was because I lost our second baby but now I am questioning whether what I am feeling is normal and I don't think it is and I really don't think it's me. I know that sounds weird right? I am gonna call and cancel the appointment for my next shot. I don't think I can really get "better" while taking this stuff. (at first I thought I was just PMS-ing however I do it ALL the time)

I'm having the same issue with my pill right now. I was just telling hubby last night that I haven't been myself since getting back on the pill after bfing and that I'm going to my family practicioner to get something new. (She just had baby #4 in Feb! As a Dr. and a mom, I figure she'll help me find what's best for me!)

It's good to know at least I'm not alone (or crazy) but it really sucks that my doc gave me no warning about the moodiness. I did ask about side effects no where in there did he say I could be bi-polar. It makes me wonder if some women are just prone to mood issues and why others aren't effected by it at all....I wish there was something they could do. I really hate trying out a new birth control and I'm just thinking about using condoms instead. (although we got pregnant last 2 times while using condoms...)

I know I sound silly but I am kinda scared to. I know I need to know but I am scared. I think I will be upset either way (which also sounds silly!!) And I really don't know when to test...I don't know if it's too soon to tell and I don't think there is a way to know??

I was on the Depo shot a few years ago and I hated it. I didn't bleed at all...which was kinda nice. But I gained over 60 pounds!!!! My SIL also gained a bunch of weight while on it.

I'm wishing you lots of luck!!! I hope you feel better once the Depo is out of your system...which can sometimes take a while.
