Birthday Cake Denial for young Adolf Hitler
Oh jeepers creepers! These parents make me SICK! They named their children very contraversial names, one being Adolf Hitler. They got angry because Shop Rite wouldn't make them a birthday cake that said "Happy Birthday, Adolf Hitler". Good for Shop Rite!
Did Shop Rite do the right thing, or should they be shamed, too, for denying a family their right to free speech? I say screw the free speech in this case... The parents knew that they would get media attention if they tried to get a birthday cake that says Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler on it! I'm sure that was their motive when naming their kids in the first place!
What in the HELL are we teaching our kids these days??? Check out the full story.

So yet another parent decides that babies are not people in their own right, but political statements.
Here's the solution if they have any sense of actually wanting little adolf to have a normal birthday party:
LEARN TO BAKE. BETTY CROCKER. PILLSBURY.
It ain't rocket science.
My kid wanted a cake shaped like a teddy bear when he was 4. With teddy grahams spelling out happy birthday. Shoprite doesn't do those either. So I did.

people can name there kids what they want but i think that the shoprite should have made the cake for them just because they don't agree with someones name shouldn't give them the right to not perform their duties of making the cake

So Browneyes, if you worked at a bakery and someone came in and wanted a cake that said Happy F-You Day (only with the real word spelled out) to give to their ex wife, would you do it? Someone somewhere may actually find that funny, but it's not, just like this situation. The parents were clearly making a political statement, not trying to give Adolf a happy birthday. Not to mention, there is something wrong with this world when there are parents who are naming their children these sorts of names. I believe that people are born good, and the parents are creating hate and animosity in these kids, and also using them- USING them- to make statements. Not cool.
And on a side note, I've worked in the service industry for many years now, and it has always been known that we can refuse service to anyone, with conditions. I once refused to sell a second bottle of wine to a visibly pregnant woman (probably 7-8 months along) because she downed the first bottle by herself in less than an hour. She was with her husband, and I assume he was driving, but I definately don't feel like I "wasn't performing my duties". I feel like I was doing a good deed!
If I knew which Shop Rite this was, I would send them a "Well Done" card!

I used to work at a Baskin Robbins, someone wanted to order a cake with a woman's breasts on it, I said I was sorry but wouldn't be able to do that for them. A company has a right to decide what they want to put their name on. If they had made that cake, the families other racist friends could have said, "Hey, Shop Rite will put all kinds of stuff on the cake!" and on the other hand, if other customers had seen this, they could have lost a lot of business.

Walmart made their cake this year. Sheesh. They really WILL do anything for money.
Really, I think these people just want grounds for a lawsuit against Shoprite. They are living on disability.
The whole "it's just a name" and "it's just a symbol" thing is such a crock. Either man up that you really believe this stuff or not. Don't play with people about it.
Think Walmart will get the swastikas drawn right?

Really glad you didn't do the nudey cake! LoL! I thought this thread would get more attention! Guess not. Personally, I was all up in arms about the article. I study racial relations at school so white supremacy like this just really gets to me. I just don't see how people can still be so close-minded after all that we know now-a-days. Sick.

The followup in the local jersey/pa papers say that the dad was raised that way, and abused. His family is denying it, also denying that he has emphysema, which is why he collects disability. The wife apparently has a bad back, so she collects disability.
White supremacists are terrorists - some want to live off the grid - these folks just want to mooch off the government and attract attention. Great big egos, little minds.
Now the dad is saying, um, yeah, he watched the history channel and he thinks maybe he's willing to admit that the holocaust actually happened - but hey adolf was still a great man, just a name, and all that crap.
They used to decorate their car with swastikas until DYFS told them to cut it out because it was endangering the children.
These people were probably used badly as children, and haven't a clue about the kids as real people. But hey, lookit me now!
You know, if they want to beg professionally and honorably, they should read (assuming they can) a book by Israel Zangwill called The King of Schnorrers. It's about a beggar in 19th century Europe who turns begging, and the need of good people to give to beggars, into a business. It's a very cynical and funny book.
But I doubt they want to be honorable at all. They just want to rip off Uncle Sam, Shoprite, and anyone who gets in their miserable way.

I find it amusing that people call these parents and Nazi's and stupid even when they have learnt what their daughter is called.

I hope Walmart loses business over this! I don't plan on going there for a cake now!
