Default Books That Transport You...

Everyone likes different books for different reasons. I like thrillers and sappy stuff that really sucks me into the story so completely that I forget about the real world going on around me. Lolly Winston's 'Good Grief' was one of those books for me. What books really captured your attention?

I used to love mysteries : ghost stories, murder mysteries, true crime stories. These days I love fairytale books that I can read to my son, they remind me of when I was little and could get lost in a story that took place in a castle in a land far far away. Although, my son is only 5 months old I read to him every night and it makes me feel so good that I can share the same stories with him that my parents shared with me when I was little. Its funny how when you get older your imagination tends to dwindle, but by simply opening a good book you can bring it back to life. Corny I know, but so very true.

For making me feel good, there's nothing like Chicken Soup for the Soul. I like most of them. As a teacher, I was especially enthused by Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul. These were stories by my peers that truly revitalized me. I think anyone who loves kids will love this book.

I really love all the Harry potter books, and my kids and I fight to be the first to read them when they come out. But for me, one book that has really shaped my approach to life has been "Who moved my cheese?" It is about the wisdom of being flexible in your planning, and always planning to seek opportunities. Very entertaining! I love it.
