Default Brady Bunch it ain't - stories needed for book

Are you willing to share your co-parenting experience for a book on co-parenting stories and strategies? What were/are the highs and lows? What sorts of skills did you need to learn to make it work? Where have you turned for help? What advice do you have for someone who is embarking on a 'blended family'?
I'm a writer and a researcher at the University of Sydney and I'm putting together a book of positive co-parenting strategies, along with Lyn Worsley, one of Australia's leading clinical psychologists specialising in building resilience in children.

There are about a dozen questions - Please write as much as you can and don't worry about style, spelling, etc. - stream of consciousness is fine and we will tidy things up in the editing process. Thanks,
Ray Welling

Default Thanks

Thanks Janet. I note from your bio that you went to Northwestern University. I was there in the late 70s/early 80s - maybe we were there at the same time?

Doubt it - I graduated in 77 and moved to NYC. Were you an undergrad or in a graduate program there, and what did you study?

Close - I started at Medill (journalism school) as an undergrad in '77 and graduated in '81. Although living in Australia, I'm originally from Ohio. Will be watching the Alamo Bowl tomorrow - I was there when we lost 30+ games in a row!

I will be watching too. I haven't had much interest since they were really the "Mildcats" back when I was there - that changed in 95, with the coach that actually had them make more plays than excuses. That ended a 20+ year streak of being at the bottom of the big 10.

But this year and more frequently, they do seem to be giving us something to talk about.

Default So close, and yet so far...

Bad luck about the Wildcats - first game of American football I have watched in years - maybe next year. But to the business at hand, I have had a couple of responses to my questionnaire about shared parenting/step-parenting, but not sure how to bring it to the attention of more people in this forum. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ray
