I loved cutting her hair.. 'Til I ruined it, then I was always angry with myself and would proceed to ruin it more with a curling iron.

Yes, ban them. Ugh. The fact that these dolls were ever supported makes me upset.

You and me both I'd like to hang the makers of these dolls upside down by his/her feet

hm...no. My girls have had numerous ones. They've already lost interest in them, and I firmly believe it is due to the fact that it was a NON ISSUE in this house.
Candy cigarettes. They should be banned.

They're soft dolls. Here's a link: http://www.geniusbabies.com/groovy-girls-phoebe.html
Every once in awhile one of them has a belly button wearing outfit but it's easily replaceable and most of their clothes aren't like that. What I like about them is that they're cool without being suggestive. It gives my dd an alternative, something to dress up and play with that isn't too 'babyish' but isn't too suggestive either.
Okay I know someone said something else I wanted to respond to and now I can't find it. . .I'll be right back.

I don't think it hurt her any. In this case, I think by making it a "no no" just makes it more attractive for the child. imo
I don't think they should be banned either btw. To each his own. But I think that whether or not it makes it more attractive to the child really depends on the parents and what they say or do. My girls are not interested, they have other alternatives. Actually, they never liked bratz anyways. But with Barbie I just told my dd what I didn't like about them, and offered her polly pockets instead--problem solved. It wasn't a big deal. . .I didn't make them out to be the devil--just a simple, "Hmmm. . .I don't really like those bc of this or that. . .but look at this here. What do you think." But I do think you're right in some sense. . .I have seen parents make a huge stink over this toy or that toy and then it becomes an obsession. But it could be that way with anything really--t.v., movies. . .etc.

Anyone see the special about Barbie collectors with the guy who had "trailer trash Barbie"?
Now that is an acquisition I would like to have!

I have two daughters ages 6 & 8 - Bratz and MyScene dolls are totally not allowed in our home. My children do have Barbies but rarely play with them - my grandmother(now deceased) bought them for my children as she did for me and I feel like they "got the obsession out of their system" when they collected these at 3 or 4. Now they only play with Barbies when friends come over and I make sure the games are appropriate about faeries or princesses - no teenage wanna be.
This is my problem with the other dolls - young girls really look up to girls who are older and when they see these "teenagers" wearing scantily clad clothing it's just not age appropriate. My girls have gone to birthday parties where the birthday girl received these dolls and come home to say, "wow, Mom, now I know why you do not like them - they wear too much makeup" or "they will twist an ankle on those high heel boots."
Someone once told me about this great quote her mother repeated to her growing up," Others may, you may not." Sounds simple but when you look deeper, she said she always felt like her parents had an extra special care for her, they were totally watching out for her best interests. My girls now know that when I say, "Others may" they may not and it's because I care about them and want to help them to make good choices in life because they are instructed in the way nice young ladies should act. I know this does sound old-fashioned but we also have a lot of old fashioned fun like going to the beach, the county fair, and listening to music loud... (moderator edit: commercial), nice wholesome, silly, fun stuff for kids.
Good luck Moms who do not want our children to play with "****z" dolls - let's stick together!

That is so offensive...I'm not even going to respond with what I really think...I only know if my kids used that word, they'd be in trouble.
