Default Breast feeding and allergies??

Val?? Or anyone else.....
I was wondering, if I am exclusively breast feeding my baby, (Who is now 5 months old) and I eat peanuts am I putting her at risk for a peanut allergy??????
I eat candied peanuts on my icecream every night. (not sparingly either) and for some reason I started to worry about it now. I hope I haven't put her at risk!!!!

Also, if your baby can get sick from Momma changing cat litter when she is preggo, is that still the case when nursing? I am cat sitting and got to wondering about that.

She either has a peanut allergy or not. And only if she had one would you eating them be a problem. You can't cause her to develop a peanut allergy. If you have a history of a peanut allergy then you may want to refrain from eating them.

i've heard that peanuts can affect breast milk, and i've heard they cant. but i would say, if she still hasn't shown any issues you're fine. enjoy your ice cream!

i'm not sure how the cat thing works..hopefully somebody else can help that one out.

I was told that anything you eat affects the taste of the breast milk. I don't think you can give her a peanut allergy though. She has to have it already.
