Default Breastfeeding and weightloss

I've always been told breastfeeding your baby helps jump start your postpartum weightloss- not true for me. I'm finally making time to really work out since the birth od my second baby, and the weight still won't budge. Any help?

How long has it been since your baby was born?
I felt the same way after my daughter was born, like the weight was just not coming off. But it did, it just came off really slowly. But I've learned that the weight that comes off quickly, goes back on quickly - the weight that comes off slowly, goes back on slowly. So losing weight ofver time is actually better.
It took me almost a year to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I attribute all of the weight loss to breastfeeding. I rarely exercised and ate pretty healthy, but did over do the sweets. And I still lost the weight. Thank you breastfeeding!
I definitely suggest keeping up the exercise, besides losing weight, it is always benefitial to your health. But if it hasn't been that long since the birth of your child, it may just be a matter of patience.

Bfing takes 500 calories per day when you are doing it exclusively. Did you post in another thread as well about diet supplements? If I have you confused I'm sorry--but you're only 6 months pp right? Your expectations are too high. While some women lose the weight and are into their skinny jeans--that's not the norm. Also you mentioned eating between 1400 to 1900 calories per day. . .you should aim for around 1700 per day give or take a little. 1900 calories per day--if you're consistently hitting that or close to it--is too much. In general, eat healthy fruits and vegetables in reasonable portions--whenever you're hungry and drink a lot of water. The weight will come off eventually.

I think sometimes women struggle with weight loss and bfing because bfing makes you hungry. So you grab chips. And more chips. And some ice cream too. I think that our natural inclination when we're tired (and who isn't tired with a baby) is to instinctively grab carbs because we need the quick energy fix. JM2C
