it depends on your style. I wanted to bring her home in a "church dress" (as that's what i was brought home in). DH wanted to bring her home in simply a onesie. I went out and picked up a few outfits (3 -- 1 was a dress, 1 was a onesie that wasn't TOO plain, and the last was a onesie with a little skirt to match it). When i got home i let him decide & he picked the onesie-skirt set. He's all excited about it now, because her first outfit will be something "daddy picked out" (nevermind i did the shopping haha -- men).

Honestly I would bring something weather appropriate to bring the baby home. I didn't care about my kids being all dolled up when I left because at that point I had been there for 4 days (both times) and was exhausted and just wanted to go home. I had one in the middle of summer and another in the beginning of October so I dressed them appropriately for going outside. I haven't decided what I'm going to bring this one home in, but I'm having her in November so rest assured it's going to be something she won't get too cold in. It's up to you and whatever you're comfortable with.

Simple and layers! I always had a cute pajama set with a hat, but something you can layer. Any time of year the weather can play tricks on you. I've had one in Oct, Nov, and this one is due end of Sept. I usually bring a receiving blanket, a lite sweater, and like I said a cute pajama outfit. They are like little mushes anyway, and a big to do outfit they get lost in! Especially those hospital pixs. Good luck and let us know what you pick!
