congratulations! Sounds like you're on your way and hopefully it won't take long before you can move in.

We'll be building our home hopefully next year.

Congratulations! That is so exciting! And the best part about building is that you get to pick out all the little details. You are going to have so much fun. Good Luck!

We've been in our newly built home for 1 year now. The best part was I got to pick out everything, but I wanted cherrywood floors and, didn't get them because they were too expensive 11,000 extra upgrade. So I have wall to wall cream colored carpeting those upgrades can be real expensive.

OUCH...11,000? Holy crap... yeah i'd say that's an expensive upgrade.

The feeling of moving into something you picked out, down to the fine details, i'm sure is the best feeling. I can't wait!

How long did it take those of you that have already built from designing the house to moving in?

We custom built almost 4 years ago and I still love it. It really is nice to be able to pick out everything... We thought we were going to spend a reasonable amount to build... HA! with all the upgrades it ended up costing us 60,000 more than we thought. It adds up fast.

We are living in California on a tight budget. It may be years before we can afford to build our own home. We have thought about either a manufactured home or moving to another state. Everything is just way too expensive here.

That's great news!! Congrats! I can't wait to own my own home. With the high costs of homes in Cali, it may be a long time coming! Good luck
