My husband and I are going down there on a Royal Caribbean Cruise on Sunday (22 Feb).
I'm looking forward to doing a little shopping for the kids but the big draw for me is checking out Sammy Hagar's cantina (read HOT SPOT), Cabo Wabo.

We skipped cabo wabo, seemed to commercialized. for the most part we stayed in San Jose Del Cabo, near the resort. Habenero's was great!!! the prickly pear cactus margarita was good, very very fresh, we watched him cut up the cactus. If your from TX, don't expect to find queso with your chips, however the salsa we had down there was the best.
If you do whale watching, Caz Gato (i think that was the name) was great!! very friendly crew, drinks were plentiful, alcoholic and non. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, don't use the small glass bottom boats!!! They run up on the whales every time they surfaced, had music blaring, and were generally a pain to deal with. plus it was a shorter tour with no drinks or food. We paid 35/person for 3 hours, seeing both blue whales and humpback. And a sea turtle that was caught up in a boat buoy. We were served all the drinks we wanted, and on the return trip, chips and fresh salsa. so fresh we watched him take the tomatoes, limes. peppers, onions and cilantro, down just before we left docks. Seeing the whales is very amazing and you should if you get a chance!
Another thing i recommend is the Costa Azul zip lines. we had so much fun, there are about 3 miles of zip lines, a ton of hiking and you get to repel down a 180 foot cliff. and afterward a tequila tour, they also let you try 4 kinds, 3 being flavored. Not that I would have tried them anyways, but Mikey did and get some of the orange, and it made some great bbq'ed chicken.
Great shopping in the plaza, fun night life.
We took an ATV tour, so so, the tour itself was beautiful once you got out of town. You can take a camera with you, i suggest a small one in a case or maybe one use camera. Its very dusty, and rough, but you go to some beautiful places. If you are worried about driving your own, i suggest you ride with a friend/spouse only reserve one. We reserved 2, i changed my mind, however since we did not give 24 hours notice, we lost the money for the second one. Keep in mind we made the reversions about 2 hours before hand. BUT we still had fun doing it, and the "playground" was so much fun! You do see how the poor people really live on the tour, in a shell of a shack, an 18 wheeler trailer with "windows" cut out, pretty sad living conditions.
The Presidente was great, food was pretty good. Breakfast and lunch were buffet, the dinners were strange, either eat at one huge buffet or make reservations, and you should make them early in the day or you will eat really late!! Napa was a great place to eat, they had the best waitstaff!! Gustav was the waiter we had every time we went in, and he was so friendly and helpful. No one tipped, well very few people did, which seemed rude to me, all inclusive or not we felt tipping was the right thing to do. We were confused by the lay out of Presidente at first, first thing you need to do is find short cuts! We were in 7216 it was a great room, looked out over the sunrise and a pool and was near Napa. it was a lovely 2nd floor, first floor gets a hammock, but not that great of views. 3rd floor got balconies, but when sitting you could not see over the edge. We could lay in bed or sit on the sofa and watch the waves and the sunrise. I think it was the best view!
If you have any questions I would love to answer them.
I can't wait to go back!!!

Sounds like you had fun!

I've been wanting to go but getting Dh to go back to Mexico is hard. He hasn't been there since his father died and really doesn't want to go back. It sucks b/c where he is from is really pretty.
