Hi everyone! We've had a very eventful and wonderful day today. I woke at 6:45 this morning when my water broke. I called into the midwife and she said that I could spend the early part of labor at home and call her again when I was uncomfortable to the point where I wanted to come in. I was feeling pretty good with some light contractions to start, and then they increased rather quickly. By 8:00 I was feeling pretty lousy and threw up several times. I told my husband to call the midwife and let her know we were coming in. We got to the hospital at 8:40 and got checked in and walked in the delivery room at about 9:00. As soon as we walked in I told the nurse that I felt like I needed to push. She quickly paged a doctor as the midwife was not there yet. The doctor checked me and confirmed that I was fully dilated and the baby was at a +2 station. After 8 minutes of pushing Caleb was born at 9:08 am. He weighed in at 7 lbs 7 ozs and 19.5 inches long. I was a little shocked that it all happened in less than three hours, but it was great, and we're both doing very well!
