My dad and I adoped a dog from the Houston SPCA. She is a rottweiler that was found abandoned and tied to a tree. She was also apparently abused because she is deathly afraid of men with beards and cords or rope. When we take her to the vet, she can't have any men besides my dad in the room. If they have a beard, forget it, she will go wimper and urinate. I am sickened to think what happened to her and would love to get a hold of her previous owner and teach him a thing or two. But I believe that God rescued her via the SPCA and we were blessed to give her a new home. She has a lovely life now. She has 5 acres of land to run around on and my dad gives her lots of love and attention. She is having a ball.
We adopted her because she was so loving and just a teddy bear. She needed us and we needed her. She is getting older can't move around as well as she could when we got her, but I hope that we have provided her with all the love and life she was lacking.
We will continue to support our SPCA. This is a great program. Hope it is a success!
