Default Chantix Linked to Suicide

The FDA issued a warning about Chantix back in November, but it has hit the news just recently. The FAA has banned pilots from using it and I read a story about a man who had a seizure while driving. They haven't proven that Chantix caused the seizure, but the man had never had a seizure before and chantix labeling now includes patients may experience "serious neuropsychiatric symptoms".

i'm not surprised. i read blogs written by a celebrity who was having horrible issues with chantix - made her really depressed, etc. (supossedly). according to the blogs, it helped her quit smoking but drove her into a deep depression.

I am very desperate to quit smoking and a friend of mine had some Chantax left over, it was like the second half of the treatment, so I read everything that I could about it. I just took one pill a day, when you were to take one in the morning and one at night. It said that if you are Prone to depression it will heighten it, it stated that it can cause nightmares, gas, and I can tell you from experience if you do not eat and take it you will get sick. I had to put my dog down and I had him for 12 years, so I quit taking the chantax, because I knew that I was going to be slightly depressed. It was working great for me, with a little bit of gas and feeling the air pockets in my intestines, but it was helping me with smoking I was very proud of my self because I had gone from smoking 1 1/2 packs a day to 1 pack every 3 days. All medication affects people differently so what may be good for one is not always good for another.
