Shopping won't be so bad after what came in my mailbox today. My FIL sent a check in his holiday card~also the first card we got this year~for $1500 to buy the kids what they want for Christmas and to use as we see fit otherwise. I cried. I thought Santa would have to roll pennies for gifts, but I guess he employed unexpected helpers this season.
Wow! What a wonderful blessing to receive!
I try to purchase things all year long, gifts that I know certain people will enjoy. I also shop after Christmas clearance for the following year.
This year I did a lot of shopping online around Thanksgiving because of my nasty bronchitis and being home sick. The bad part of that is, when you actually see the item in hand, sometimes it is different than pictured.
Sears.com had some great Black Friday deals, but their site was down most of the day. That irritated me to no end! Their 800# clerks also had their puters down at the same time. Ended up ordering from Kohls.com and a few items, I had to return.
Last night we shopped for a few last gifts items. I'm hoping
we are done and I need to finish wrapping.
My familyroom is covered with giftbags, giftwrap, ribbons, bows, tape, etc.
But the wrapped gifts are into specific areas, so as not to confuse. I have to keep them organized.
The (4) of us (DH, DS#1, DS#2, and I) have one area for gifts,
(6) in-loves another area,
my extended (30) family another area as we draw names for big gifts and then still give smaller gifts to the nieces & nephews,
small gifts for the elderly (120) friends where my parents live in another area,
and neighbors and co-workers are in the diningroom in a corner.
Did I mention that I have been busy w/ wrapping? Should have started sooner.
