Default Co-Sleeping thoughts

So I was telling this girl I work with about how Grace has been co-sleeping with us and she was adament about not doing it. She said that Grace will become dependent on being with us to sleep and she will do it for a long time. She stated the example of her 15 yr old sister, who co-slept with her mom, having to sleep with her (my co-worker) this past weekend cause she has to sleep with someone else in her bed. Now, I think this is a load of b.s.! I have read tons of posts and things about co-sleeping and the benefits of it for baby and mother (more sleep!!) This chick just seems to think that she knows best and her way is the best way.

I still plan on co-sleeping (even though it's really only half the night until morning) but I was wondering, for those of you who do co-sleep.... how long before you had your child in their own bed all the time? Was it hard to get them to sleep in their own bed? I think we're ok cause Grace goes to sleep in her own crib every night, and she knows how to get herself back to sleep. I love co-sleeping with her though. I love how close she is, and how she can just turn her head to eat. And I love the snuggling! I was just thinking about this today and wondering what all your thoughts were.
