Default cold medicine

i have the cold from you know where. every time you think it's gone.. it's back, and with another symptom. can i take a cold medicine that has phenylephrine instead of pseudoephedrine? apparently no pharmacist in my area knows anything about breastfeeding, and i know pseudoephedrine runs the risk of affecting my supply. help please!

I would love to know this too. I have been fighting off a head cold and we have the same pharmacists around here. I'm not "sick" enough to go to the doctor so I have been fighting it with hot tea and lots of fruit. But the congestion is starting to win.

thank you so much val! i don't have a voice this morning because of my throat and my husband is laughing at me. (how sweet right? lol). i'm like you, the phenylephrine doesn't do a thing for me either.

purelegance--go ahead and try the other then. No more than a few days though and use sparingly. The absolute worse thing that can happen is that your supply is affected. . .you realize it. . .nurse constantly for a day and then it's fine. For me I find that once I get good sleep. . .I'm usually on the mend.

And you're always welcome ladies. I'm generally not on Sunday mornings but we were out late last night so we skipped Sunday school.

I don't know about the medicine, but I heard that pomegranate juice is great for boosting immunity and shortening the length of colds.

Yep. . .we skipped Sunday school. Taking sleepy grouchy twins to a ss then a service that's 3 hours just is not going to work. Actually, we skipped church too! Went to go see in -laws in Ct.
