Default College Age - Who's Moving Home For the Summer?

May is almost here and that brings the ends of classes
at most univerisities.

What are your summer plans?

Staying on-campus or in an apt for the summer?

Working?

Taking summer classes?

Work and classes?

Are you going to move home for the summer back with your parents?

How does that go?

My DS#1 still has apt this summer at school, but he plans to come home and take a summer class. We are hoping he'll get a job too.

He does plan to spend some time at his apt too.

I have another niece, who will be staying at college and working this summer.

And another niece & nephew (brother & sister) who will be leaving
their apt at the end of the month and moving back home for the summer.
My sis is trying to figure out where all their furniture from their apt will go.
Maybe they'll use a rental unit. There is not room in the garage or the basement
for an entire apt full of furniture.

I have one more college age niece, not certain of her summer plans yet.

Lots of changes in families when college age kids move back home for the summer.
It never feels 'the same' once you've been on your own.
While the bedroom looks the same, the house looks the same....
things have changed.

College age kid mature and grow-up. There are still house rules to abide by.
Going from no curfew to common courtesy of living at home again
brings on many changes for the college student and the parents.

More music in the house - loud.
The refrig empties quicker.
Requests for different foods when grocery shopping for the family.
Those all impact families.

What about yours?

He's graduating.

Going to graduate school in the fall, getting an internship on campus.

Have no idea what he is doing for the summer. Probably not at my house. May work for his dad.
