Question Companies that help with adoption expenses

I have been told about some companies that will actually pay for a portion of adoption expenses for their employees. Has anyone ever experienced this or know of someone who has? Does anyone know of some of the companies and care to share more information?

I know that UTC (United Technologies Corporation) has a benefit program that pays for Adoption Expenses for employees. I worked for them for years, and it's a great company - excellent benefits. Oh! And I see your SN is NewYorkMom - Carrier Corporation (a UTC company) is based in Syracuse.

I am currently employed by American General Finance ... They are owned by AIG and our company offers a $7500 reimbursement after the adoption is finalized with proof of payment on almost everything .. Does not include travel.

My husband works for Cingular Wireless. They will reimburse us $5000 once the adoption is finalized. The problem is coming up with the money in the first place! We're still very grateful, though.

UPS has an adoption assistance program. My husband already has great benefits and loves his job, and then we found out that they had this program, and WOW, we were so happy!!!

The Dave Thomas Foundation has a great site where you can order information (for free) about approaching your employer to begin offering the benefit of adoption assistance. Just wanted to let you know:

Default Corporate Adoption Assistance

Ernst & Young provides up to $5000 in adoption assistance and offers 2-4 weeks paid parental leave in addition to standard FMLA.
